The home of Girls' Rugby in Oxfordshire

Wallingford Maidens

Our girls can play with the boys until U13 but then move from the junior section of Wallingford RFC to the Maidens.

The Maidens run three teams:girls rugby sevens

Both teams contribute players to county and the Thames Valley region. We had 3 U15 girls playing in the Thames Valley team that reached the final of the U15 National regional competition of England & Wales in 2010. Our girls scored the try that took TV to the final and the only try of the final. So we have some of the very best players around!

We play at various tournaments. To the right is the U15 7s team that played at the Hertfordshire 7s in May 2010.

But it is not all about winning. You've never seen a team enjoy Tuesday night training as much as the Wallingford Maidens! See the comitment in the photo below!

There are not so many girls playing rugby and Wallingford is the only club in Oxfordshire that can field a full team - but only just. We need more players. Experience is not required - we provide all the instruction you need.

Come and join us and enjoy not only the on-the-pitch fun but also the off-pitch fun. We make several social trips out each year from outward-bound long weekends to watching big games at Twickenham and nearby Wasps & London Irish.

Some of our girls were charmed by Danny Cipriani (photo to the right) at a Wasps match in late 2009.
